Destiny of the Heart

Chapter one

It had begun to poor outside. Relena was staring out the window of her small private airplane. She overheard the conversation coming from the front of the plane about the possibility of entering a storm that has been producing ice. She felt troubled but she knew that the plane was equipped to take care of such things. She looked around the plane and saw two of her bodyguards stuffing their luggage in the overhead compartment. She smiled at them and they nodded at her. Millardo had picked out two of the best bodyguards that he could find. And to top it all he hired another one because of the threats that she had been receiving lately. It was important to Millardo to make sure that she would be safe until they found her stalker. So he hired someone that he knew that he could trust to protect her, Heero Yuy.

She looked toward the front of the plane and saw Heero talking to the pilot. He looked over at her, somehow knowing that she was looking at him. She smiled at him only to see him turn his attention back to the pilot. She sighed and leaned back in her seat. Even with him protecting her she rarely gets him to talk to her. This was going to be a long flight to sit in silence. Maybe she would play cards again with John and Mac, her other two bodyguards. Heero always sat in the back of the plane wanting to be left alone anyway.

She herd someone coming down the aisle. It was Heero he stopped and looked at her for a second then continued his walk to the back of the plane. Relena watched him pull his laptop out of the overhead compartment and take his seat. She got up and walked over to him. She wanted to know what their flight plan was.

"Heero."

He looked up from the screen and locked eyes with her. "What do you want?" he coldly said to her.

"I want to know what are flight plans are."

"........" He looked back down at the computer and started typing. It was his way of saying it's none of your business.

She crossed her arms and glared at him. She was sick and tired of him ignoring her questions like that. It was her life that he was dealing with and he had no right to keep things from her.

"Damn it Heero!"

He looked up at her shocked that she said that, but still managed to keep his face of stone.

"You have no right to keep these things from me!" She had resisted the urge to slap him. She knew that he would probably kill her himself or leave. And that would make her upset because she liked the idea of having him near her, and she would never hear the end of it from Millardo.

"It's a straight flight to where were going." He finally answered her.

"But that's a long way won't we be pushing it fuel wise?"

"Don't worry about it." He again looked away from her and started to type.

She knew that this time he was defiantly done talking to her. Relena made her way back to her seat and sat down. Once the pilot announced that they were about to take off she buckled up and looked out the window. 'I can't take this much longer. It hurts to much to be around him. And knowing that he doesn't share the same feeling that is aching in my heart.' She tried her best not to cry but a lone tear slid down her cheek.

After the plane was in the air she grabbed a blanket that was nearby and the pillow and leaned her seat back. She covered up and got comfortable and closed her eyes hoping that sleep would come soon. Unknown to her Heero had been watching her from the back of the plane. He knew that something was bothering her and he didn't like it one bit.

Relena's eyes snapped open she dreamed that there was a problem with the plane. She looked around to see that Heero wasn't in his seat and her bodyguards were watching the front of the plane. She looked to see that the door to the cockpit was open. The plane pitched forward then leveled out. Relena resisted the urge to scream. She closed her eyes and leaned forward. She felt someone place a hand on her back. She looked up to see Heero taking the seat beside her.

"Heero what's going on." her voice was shaky. She could see something in his eyes, something that made her stomach turn to knots, fear. It was only a brief glimpse, but she saw it. She knew that something was terribly wrong.

He reached over and tightened her seat belt. He then buckled his. "Relena the plane is going down."

"What!" her eyes were wide with fright.

"Get down." He pushed her so she was leaning forward. She closed her eyes and started to pray. "Oh God I'm going to die." She glanced over at Heero who got down next to her. 'At least he's here with me.' She reached over and took his hand in hers. 'I'm not going to die with out telling him.'

Heero looked over at her. He wanted to pull his hand away, but resisted because Relena seemed to be at ease holding it. He could see tears slipping down her cheeks. He fought the urge to wipe them away. Then he felt his heart stop at the words that come out of her mouth.

"Heero, I love you."

The plane started to break apart as it impacted with the trees then slammed against the ground. Then nothing but silence filled the forest.
